Frequently Asked Questions
Choosing the right kind of support begins with understanding your goals, the available approaches, and what it is like to work together. These questions cover coaching, consulting, mentorship, Content Architecture Development, scheduling, and next steps.
Finding the Right Starting Point
Different situations benefit from different kinds of support. Coaching, consulting, and mentorship each provide a distinct framework designed to meet different goals. Choosing the right approach begins with understanding your goals and the kind of support that will serve them best.
Coaching: Coaching creates space for reflection that strengthens awareness, clarifies priorities, and supports meaningful action. I provide a structure for thoughtful exploration while you determine the direction of each conversation.
Consulting: Consulting draws on professional experience to strengthen planning, decision-making, and other complex challenges. Together we explore the situation, identify practical strategies, and develop a clear path forward.
Mentoring: Mentorship combines thoughtful conversation with perspective gained through professional and personal experience. It is particularly valuable when navigating unfamiliar responsibilities, leadership growth, or significant transitions where professional and personal experience can provide additional context and encouragement.
A Discovery Call provides an opportunity to discuss your goals, ask questions, and determine which approach is likely to provide the greatest benefit.

Content Architecture Development
Content Architecture Development strengthens how ideas connect, flow, and support understanding. The process examines how information is organized, how ideas build on one another, and how the overall resource functions for its intended audience. Whether developing a professional manuscript, educational resource, organizational guide, training curriculum, or other knowledge-based content, Content Architecture Development helps create resources that are more coherent, meaningful, and useful while preserving the author's expertise and voice.

Projects are often a good fit for professional manuscripts, educational resources, organizational communication plans, training materials, curricula, instructional guides, and other knowledge-based resources. It is particularly valuable when complex ideas need stronger organization, clearer relationships, or a more intentional learning experience. Rather than changing the expertise itself, the process strengthens how that expertise is communicated, understood, and applied by the people it is intended to serve.
Content Architecture Development goes beyond editing. While editing focuses on improving language, grammar, or style, Content Architecture Development examines how ideas are organized, connected, and experienced by the intended audience. The goal is to strengthen understanding, learning, and meaningful application while preserving the author's expertise and voice.
Yes. Some projects benefit from both strategic consulting and Content Architecture Development. Consulting may help clarify organizational goals, communication needs, or educational priorities, while Content Architecture Development strengthens how those ideas are organized into a professional resource. Together, the services create a coherent process from strategy through implementation.
Content Architecture Development is a collaborative process. The expertise, ideas, and subject knowledge remain yours. My role is to strengthen how that expertise is organized, connected, and communicated so the finished resource better serves its intended audience.
Recent work has included professional manuscripts, organizational communication resources, educational handbooks, training materials, and other knowledge-based resources. Each project begins with the goals of the resource and the needs of its intended audience.
See examples in Selected Work.
Consider this process when ideas feel difficult to organize, a resource has grown beyond its original structure, multiple contributors are involved, or the content needs to better support learning, decision-making, or practical application.
Every project is different. Pricing is based on the scope of the resource, the complexity of the work, and the level of collaboration involved. Current project options and pricing are available on the Content Architecture Development page.
Getting Started
Scheduling begins with a Discovery Call. During the call, we determine the most appropriate service and discuss next steps. Once the Coaching Agreement and payment process are complete, clients receive a scheduling link or confirm an appointment.
Sessions are scheduled virtually and hosted through Zoom. In person appointments may be available to clients within 25 miles of Eureka, Missouri, USA, zip code 63025.
Scheduling a session begins with a Discovery Call. Once a Coaching Agreement has been reached, scheduling is done at the end of a session or through email.
During the Discovery Call, the client and coach will determine the appropriate service. To book sessions, complete the Coaching Agreement and payment process. At that time, clients receive the scheduling link or confirm an appointment.
After booking a Discovery Call, an invite will arrive via email. The email will include instructions on how and when to join the online session.
A Coaching Agreement is a clear partnership agreement between a coach and a client that outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and boundaries of the coaching work. Before coaching sessions begin, the client will receive a Coaching Agreement to review. The client and coach will both sign the agreement to establish the coaching framework.
Discovery Calls do not require a Coaching Agreement.
Working Together
Coaching sessions are client-led. Together we explore the topic, consider new perspectives, and identify meaningful next steps.
Coaching is client-led and does not rely on advice. When recommendations or experience-based guidance would be helpful, consulting or mentorship may be a better fit.
Some situations benefit from more than one framework. When appropriate, coaching, consulting, and mentorship can be intentionally integrated while maintaining clear expectations about the role each approach serves. This flexibility allows the support to reflect the needs of the situation while maintaining the integrity of each professional framework.
Clients may reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice without penalty. Additional information about cancellations, missed appointments, refunds, and late arrivals is included in the Coaching Agreement.
Many clients choose weekly or every other week sessions. Scheduling depends on client availability, goals for coaching, and creating meaningful change.
Coaching conversations are confidential and client privacy is essential to creating a safe environment for meaningful change.
Consult, Mentor, Coach adheres to the ethics established by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). For more information about ethics, visit the ICF Code of Ethics.
Coaches are obligated to break confidentiality if the client is in danger of hurting themselves or others. Coaching conversations may also be subject to legal disclosure when required by applicable law.
At Consult, Mentor, Coach, clients may be asked for permission to take handwritten notes during a session for the purpose of supporting the coaching process. Clients can decline at any time.
Clients may be asked for permission to be included by first initial, last name, and contact email for credentialing recordkeeping.

Fit, Scope, and Boundaries
I work with individuals, educators, leaders, caregivers, and values-driven organizations navigating decisions, transitions, growth, or the development of meaningful resources.
Coaching, consulting, mentorship, and Content Architecture Development support professional and personal transitions, leadership development, resilience, organizational planning, communication, educational initiatives, and the development of meaningful resources.
Coaching is not therapy or a substitute for medical, mental health, legal, or other licensed professional services. When appropriate, the coach may recommend seeking additional professional support.
When another type of support appears better suited to your needs, the coach will communicate that clearly. A good working relationship begins with an appropriate fit. When appropriate, referrals or recommendations for other resources may also be provided.
